Vedi, Vini, Vino Pt. I: 2006 Dogajolo
I have decided that I need a really BIG wine bottle to display in the kitchen. Seriously, it would look so cool. A magnum wasn't big enough. No, we need a Double Magnum. H called Gary at Great Wines, who explained that generally, a double magnum is more costly that the equivalent quantity in standard bottles. That said, a 2006 Carpineto Dogajolo was available locally in a double magnum. Gary said--and I agree--that for display purposes this was a nice-looking label. We picked up a small bottle to give it a try. Well...it was pretty good. It's a table wine that does its job. Tasty, but a little generic. Definitely good as a cooking wine. No, not to cook with. To enjoy while cooking. We will give the double magnum some consideration.
